What is Angely
Angely · 小天使 is a site for running 小天使 (angel-game) gift exchanges with your friends. Each person gets an angel (anonymous — you don't know who) and is also someone else's angel. Your angel reads the adjectives you filled in and tries to read your style when picking a gift.
The 小天使 tradition
In Taiwan, 小天使·小主人 is a familiar gift-exchange format at company year-end parties (尾牙), class events, and friend gatherings. The point isn't the gift itself — it's that someone took the time to read you and think about what you'd like. Angely brings that tradition online so running the game is less hassle and more anticipation.
How it differs from other gift exchanges
Most gift exchanges run on lists — "I want X, Y, Z, please buy them." 小天使 runs on clues. You give a few adjectives; your angel uses those clues to think: what would you actually enjoy? That process — someone thinking about you, preparing for you — is the warmth of this game. As a side effect, the rate of unloved gifts drops a lot.
Who built this
Angely is a side project from a small team (mostly one person) based in Taiwan. We use free tools and simple design so that running 小天使 doesn't get stuck on the tedious part — "who's giving to whom?"
